At some point, James Stanton became the supervillain known as Doctor Weerd. In his first encounter with the Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy, he kidnapped the latter and threatened the former. Eventually, the Star-Spangled Kid rescued his sidekick from danger and the event was reported on by the Civic City News.^[1]^[3]
