'''Kay Olivia Challis''' is a girl who developed dissociative identity disorder and 64 alters after sexual, physical and psychological abuse from [[Arthur Challis (Earth-21)|her father]]. Over decades, Challis switched between different alters and chose '''Miranda''' as her "prime", though decided '''Crazy Jane''' to be the successor when Miranda was proven to be unable to protect Challis.

Over the years, Challis chose '''Miranda''' and '''Crazy Jane''' as her prime personality, with the latter named after her [[Jane (Earth-21)|grandmother]] with the purpose of protecting her. However, after decades of trying, Challis eventually overcame her trauma and all her personalities merged into one, with her now known as '''Kaleidoscope''', or '''K''' for short.

It's all of us up here now. The entire Underground... breathing, existing, all at once. I don't feel like just Jane anymore.
Well, if you're not just Jane, what should we call you? There's one word I keep hearing in the back of my mind. Our minds. Kaleidoscope.
    — Kaleidoscope and Larry Trainor[src]

Kay Olivia Challis is the daughter of Arthur Challis, who sexually, physically and psychologically abused her. As a result of her abuse, Challis developed dissociative identity disorder and developed 64 personalities. Combined with experiments done to her unconventional treatments at a mental hospital, each of her personalities gained separate metahuman abilities.

Over the years, Challis chose Miranda and Crazy Jane as her prime personality, with the latter named after her grandmother with the purpose of protecting her. However, after decades of trying, Challis eventually overcame her trauma and all her personalities merged into one, with her now known as Kaleidoscope, or K for short.
