Wonder Woman 1984, also known as WW84: Wonder Woman 1984, is a 2020 film based on the DC Comics character, Wonder Woman, and the ninth film in the DC Extended Universe. It premiered on December 15, 2020, during DC FanDome and on December 25, 2020, in the United States both theatrically and digitally on HBO Max.
The film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen, and is directed by Patty Jenkins with screenplay by Jenkins, Geoff Johns and David Callaham, and story by Jenkins and Johns. Two follow-ups are in development, with one focusing on the titular character and one focusing on the Amazons of Themyscira, both produced by Jenkins.
Synopsis[edit source]
In 1984, during the Cold War, Diana comes into conflict with two formidable foes—media businessman Maxwell Lord and friend-turned-enemy Barbara Minerva / Cheetah—while reuniting with her love interest Steve Trevor.[1]
