Dr. Victor Fries was a cryobiologist who froze his wife Nora Fries in a Cryochamber in order to find a cure for her illness. He turned to the life of crime as Mr. Freeze and became a foe to the Batman.

At some point, Victor Fries became a scientist and an expert in cryobiology. He later married Nora Fries and discovered that she suffered from MacGregor's Syndrome. Fries then froze her wife in a Cryochamber for 20 years while he searched for a cure.[1]
Ice Cold Foe[edit source]
He eventually turned to the life of crime as Mr. Freeze and was defeated by Batman before passing away in 2001.[1] Afterwards, Batman kept his Freeze Serum in the Batcave until it was stolen twenty years later by "Circe Sionis" and given to Black Mask.[2][3]

- Freeze Serum: Holding his own formula of liquid nitrogen, Fries used to utilize a Freeze Tank to supply cold air to the Cryochamber and freeze his wife.[1] The tank of the serum was later stored in the Batcave until it was stolen in 2021 by "Circe Sionis" and given to Black Mask.[2][3]
- Cryochamber: Fries owned a cryogenic tank which he used to freeze his wife in cryostasis.[1]
- Goggles: Fries wore a pair of goggles with red lenses as Mr. Freeze.[1]
