    Robert DuBois (Earth-1: Post-Crisis)

Any goodness I ever had in me had been wrung out bare by my old man.
    — Robert DuBois[src]

Robert DuBois, codenamed Bloodsport, is an ex-military, a former assassin and a member of Task Force X.

    Biography[edit source]

    Early Life[edit source]

At a very young age, DuBois was trained by his mercenary father and became the "perfect soldier". In one of the trainings, he failed to complete his task and was placed in a crate with rats for 24 hours. As a result, DuBois developed a fear of rats.[1]

Later, DuBois married an unnamed woman and had a daughter in 2005, whom he named Tyla.[1]

While DuBois served in the army, he met Rick Flag, who later suggested Waller to recruit on Task Force X.[1]

    Fighting Superman[edit source]

At some point after 2013, DuBois used a Kryptonite bullet and shot Superman, placing the latter in the ICU and was later incarcerated in Belle Reve Correctional Center.[1]

    Recruitment[edit source]

In 2021, Amanda Waller recruited DuBois to Task Force X. DuBois initially refused and changed his mind after Waller threatened to place his daughter in prison. Forced to join the team, Waller introduced the task force consisting of Peacemaker, Ratcatcher 2, Polka-Dot Man and King Shark. The team was then sent to Corto Maltese in order to destroy all traces of something only known as Project Starfish and camped in the forest.[1]

During the night, DuBois witnessed Polka releasing his dots from his body behind the bush and saw Nanaue attempting to eat Cleo. He quickly pulled out his firearm and shot Nanaue, protecting the deeply sleeping Cleo from death. However, she retained no memories of the incident and refused to believe as Nanaue has "kind eyes". DuBois called Cleo a "little idiot" as Nanaue tried to eat Sebastian, revealing the truth of the shark's cannibalistic behaviors. DuBois soon mocked Smith's "tighty whities" underpants, who later replied that it was racist.[1]

    The Search[edit source]

In the next morning, the team packed their equipments and went to a camp where Rick Flag was supposedly held in after being capture. DuBois and Smith competed against each other using their respective weapons, with the latter introducing exploding compression bullets to the former. However, they soon realized that they had killed a group of innocent people and lied that they left before they got to the base, with Polka revealing the truth quickly afterward. Sol Soria and Rick Flag were forced to forgive them and worked alongside the task force in search of Gaius Grieves.[1]

The group walked across the mountains to the town and briefly stopped as Cleo got tired and Polka's started glowing with polka-dots. They then arrived at an army facility where they met Milton, a driver for the Freedom Fighters. DuBois started changing into civilian clothes in order to infiltrate La Gatita Amable, the gentlemen's club that Grieves often visits.[1]

As Grieves had yet to arrive, the team started ordering drinks and enjoyed themselves. They were then interrupted when Grieves entered the building, only to encounter another obstacle as the army arrived in search of Americans. DuBois, Flag and Smith acted as distractions for Polka and Cleo to take Grieves back to the bus, while the trio was immediately arrested. On the transport, the three of them agreed to attack and knocked the guards unconscious, allowing them to escape.[1]

They then discussed their next moves, changing their objective to rescue Harley Quinn.[1]

    Operation Harley[edit source]

Still in their civilian outfits, DuBois and Flag infiltrated the building using a grapple hook. However, Harley appeared next to them, revealing that she had escaped by herself without assistance. The team then resumed their objective to infiltrate Jotunheim.[1]

The team soon got into their respective suits, with the Thinker driving to Jotunheim and infiltrating the building. The team then stormed the building in the rain and was able to enter the lobby.[1]

Commanding the team, DuBois, Polka, Harley, Nanaue and Milton planted explosives on the walls of Jotunheim. They were then confronted by a group of soldiers who shot and killed Milton. Despite being with Milton for the entire mission, the team were unable to recall him as Polka got emotional over the death of one of his teammates. Krill's rage caused him to shoot a series of polka-dots at the soldiers and triggered the explosives on the floor, igniting a chain of explosions and destroying the building.[1]

Thankfully, DuBois, Harley and Krill were able to survive the fall and were able to hang on to the remaining constructions of the building. DuBois' helmet shattered upon impact as his grapple hook slowly detached from the building. DuBois then called through the building and landed in front of Smith and Cleo. The former was surprised to see DuBois and attempted to shoot him. Realizing that Smith was trying to kill Cleo, DuBois did not hesitate to shoot Smith. The bullets collided midair, with DuBois' smaller bullets being able to shoot Smith in the throat. Cleo explained the situation and DuBois hid the hard disk of Project Starfish in his gauntlet.[1]

With the team back together, they ran away as Starro had escaped control. The team were able to protect themselves from Starro's extensions by covering their faces under Cleo's advice. Despite Starro's escape, Waller demanded the team to leave as the objective of the mission was completed. DuBois slowly walked away, only to be forced back by his compassion as Cleo told him that Sebastian was right to think there was good left in him.[1]

    — DuBois' orders[src]

Waller back in Belle Reve was then knocked unconscious by Flo Crawley. The team followed Emilia Harcourt and John Economos' orders to evade Starro, fighting the injected individuals with their respective abilities. DuBois assembled a powerful firearm using pieces of his suit and shot Starro, distracting it from fighting civilians. Now truly being a leader, DuBois ordered the team to stay in different locations for peak performance. Later, Harley Quinn used a javelin and entered Starro's eye. Cleo then summoned the rodents of Corto Maltese and brought them into Starro's eye, ordering them to eat its brain and defeating it once and for all. DuBois struggled to breathe as his phobia got worse, with Cleo placing her hand to comfort him.[1]

    Going Home[edit source]

After the battle concluded, DuBois told Waller to leave them alone in exchange for not releasing the hard disk to the public. Waller was forced to comply and sent Briscoe to pick the squad up. On the ride, DuBois observed his teammates' behaviors after the tiring battle and finally overcame his phobia in order to pet Sebastian.[1]
