Metahumans, also known as Mutants,[1] are humans who gained unnatural and enhanced abilities, often known as superpowers.

World War II[edit source]
During the World War II, the US government executed experiments on African-American soldiers who disobeyed the rules, giving them a choice of going to court-martial or undergo the experiments. However, countless individuals died in the experiments with Tyson Sykes gaining exceptional abilities and the first Metahuman in history.[2]
Mirakuru[edit source]
In 2014, Slade Wilson used the Mirakuru drug on his own army, using their enhanced physiology as a method to invade Starling City.[3]
Particle Accelerator Explosion[edit source]

On December 11, 2013, "Harrison Wells" created the particle accelerators and sabotaged his own invention, speeding up the creation of The Flash and causing Metahumans in Central City.[3][4]
Enlightenment[edit source]
In 2018, the Thinker executed the Enlightenment and used his satellites to brainwash Humans. Team Flash later thwarted the plan and caused a satellite to fall to the city. The Flash soon destroyed the projectile and created the Dark Matter-infused pieces to injure dozens of people.[5]
Green Light Babies[edit source]
As of 2018, the ASA took over Freeland and captured countless users of the Green Light drug, who later developed Metahuman abilities and placed in a pod. However, Black Lightning's team was able to free the kids from ASA custody and disbanded the organization.[6]
