James "Jim" Gordon was the commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, a staunch ally of Batman, and the father of Barbara Gordon.
Early Life[edit source]
At some point, James Gordon joined the Gotham City Police Department and rose to the rank of commissioner. He also had a daughter called Barbara Gordon at some point during his life.
Batman & Robin[edit source]
During his career, Gordon maintained a close relationship with Batman and Robin, often using a customized searchlight known as the Bat-Signal to request their assistance in solving cases involving supervillains. In one such case, Gordon worked with Batman to defeat the Scarecrow after being sent a poem in which Crane threatened to use explosives to release his fear toxin across Gotham City.
Theft Spree[edit source]
In 2016, Gordon issued a statement in which he expressed confusion over how a group of criminals managed to overcome sophisticated security systems in order to steal priceless artifacts from several museums across Gotham City.
Trigon's Dreamworld[edit source]
In a dreamworld created by Trigon for Dick Grayson, Gordon was kidnapped by the Joker and tortured for three days until eventually being murdered.
Prior to 2020, Gordon was frozen in a block of ice by Mr. Freeze, resulting in him dying of a heart attack.
Powers and Abilities[edit source]
- Leadership: Gordon was an excellent leader in his role as commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, a position he held with distinction for many years.
