“ | Look, on my Earth, I had fame. I had power. I had respect. I was H.R. Wells! Ahhh! But when I looked in the mirror, I knew the truth and the truth was: I didn’t matter. I was a fraud. That is why I came to this Earth. So, I can rewrite my story, both literally and figuratively. | ” |
Harrison "H.R." Wells was the director of S.T.A.R. Labs and an author. During his life on Earth-1, he disguised with the appearances of Randolf Morgan under the name of H.R. Randolf.
Biography[edit source]
Early Life[edit source]
At some point in his life, H.R. Wells became the face of S.T.A.R. Labs on Earth-19.[5]
Going to Earth-1[edit source]
After his lie about being a scientist is exposed on his Earth, his partner solved the cryptogram message sent from Team Flash on recruiting a new Harrison Wells. Later, he was accepted by Harry Wells and went to Earth-1 despite the ban of inter-dimensional travel on his earth.[6]
Soon, the members of Team Flash realize he is a fraud. However, he claimed to be useful, and Barry Allen allowed him to stay for a longer time to prove his worthiness. Due to his staying on Earth-1 while wearing the face of a murderer, he used a facial transmogrification device to disguise as H.R. Randolf.[1]
Death[edit source]
After accidentally revealing their plan of keeping Iris West safe to Savitar, Wells felt an enormous guilt of causing the death of West. Although nobody blamed him for the mistake, he decided to rescue West. However, they were unable to escape. Wells later had no other plans and forcibly used the facial transmogrification device to swap their appearances, causing Savitar to let West go and imprison Wells. A few hours later, Savitar took Wells to Infantino Street and killed Wells while mistaking him as West. After Savitar left, Allen ran to hold Wells in his arms and Wells switched off the device, revealing his true face to Allen. As the timeline was altered, Savitar was slowly being erased out of existence.[2][4]
Erased Timeline[edit source]
After the death of Iris West, Wells closed S.T.A.R. Labs Museum as Allen pushed everyone away from him. At some point, bought CC Jitters and renamed it. He also became a well known author and uses the name of H.R. Wells instead of H.R. Randolf.[7]
In 2024, Wells held a book reading event and was taken to S.T.A.R. Labs by Allen of 2017. Allen later convinced the team to work together to defeat Mirror Master and Top. Wells reunited with the team as well as his drumsticks and raised the morale of the team. The Allen of 2024 also helped his younger self and Wells proposed a drink at Jitters.[7]
