Gotham City is a city in the United States of America. It is known for it's high crime rates and the numerous current and former vigilante inhabitants, such as Batman and Robin.^[1]

At some point, Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered in front of him, which lead him to become the vigilante known as Batman.^[2]

At Haly's Circus, the acrobats John and Mary Grayson were murdered by mobster Tony Zucco due to their bosses' failure to pay the Maroni Crime Family,^[3] leaving their son as an orphan.^[1]

Billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne decided to adopt him and trained him to become the vigilante known as Robin.^[1]

Some years later, Dick decided to leave Gotham to get away from Bruce, as he feared he was becoming too much like him.^[1]

He later decided to go to Wayne Manor to make amends with Bruce.^[2]
