Private Reece was a soldier in the 38th (Welsh) Infantry Division who took part in the Capture of Mametz.

Capture of Mametz[edit | hide]
On July 1, 1916, the Imperial German Army attacked the 38th (Welsh) Infantry Division of the British Army. During the conflict, Reece and Gwyn Davies were tasked with sending a message to the general. However, Reece was killed during their journey back to the camp, which shocked Davies with the death haunting him for a long period of time.[1]
