Black Canary was a potential sequel to Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and a film in the DC Extended Universe. It was set to be released on HBO Max.
The film would have seen the return of Jurnee Smollett as Dinah Lance/Black Canary.
On January 31, 2023, James Gunn announced the beginning of a new DC Universe franchise and Black Canary was not listed among the projects in its first chapter.[2]
Notes[edit | hide | hide all]
- The film would have been a reunion for Smollett and writer Misha Green, as the two had previously worked together on HBO's Lovecraft Country.
